October 1-14, Trophy Mule Deer Hunts

Our early October mule deer hunts take place on large, private ranches in the high-country of south-central Wyoming, an area well known for producing monster mulies!  This is our premier hunting opportunity for extreme trophy mule deer!  This hunt is designed with the serious trophy mule deer hunter in mind!  We have been on a quality deer management plan for the past 15 years in this area.  Before harvested, a buck must meet our management requirements, consisting of a combination of factors including: width of outside the ears or wider, four points to each side or better, good mass and deep forks.  In short, only big mature trophy bucks are allowed to be harvested, typically 4 ½ years and older!  Due to the ideal habitat, strong genetics and sound management of the area, our hunters consistently take trophy mule deer averaging from 26 to 28 inches wide, scoring from 160 to 180 gross Boone and Crockett points!  In recent years, our hunters have also taken numerous monster mulies from 30 to 36 inches, both typical and non-typical bucks, scoring from 190 to over 230 B&C points!  Hunter success on this hunt has averaged around 75 to 80% in past years.  This special controlled harvest hunt is not recommended for the casual hunter that feels he absolutely must fill his deer license before he can go home feeling satisfied and happy!  However, this hunt is definitely a tremendous opportunity for the serious trophy hunter that hopes to collect a potential world-class, trophy mule deer!  Trophy antelope may also be hunted in combination with our early October deer hunts!

October 15-31, Limited Entry / Trophy Mule Deer Hunts:

Our late October Mule Deer hunts take place on large, private ranches in the rugged high-country of South Central Wyoming. These trophy Mule Deer hunts may be combined with our limited entry Elk hunts!   The mulies taken are much the same as our early October hunts, 24 to 28 inches, typically scoring from 160 to170 inches with the occasional monster buck scoring over 180 B&C points! Hunter success has averaged over 80% for many years!

November 1-30, Trophy Mule Deer Hunts

Our November mule deer hunts take place on several exclusive private ranches in the beautiful Black Hills of northeast Wyoming.  This area is well known for its high populations of trophy mulies and whitetails alike.   The gently rolling terrain of the Black Hills of Wyoming, consisting of agricultural fields, ponderosa pines and live oak thickets, rimrocks and canyons, provide superb deer habitat, a virtual deer factory, producing the highest deer densities in the state!   Our November rut deer hunts produce our highest success rates on nice mulie bucks!  Over the past 20 years, our hunters have enjoyed 100% shooting opportunities and 95 to 100% harvest success on good, mature bucks, with average spreads of 22 to 26 inches wide, and four points per side or better!  Because we have great mule deer, as well as super white-tailed deer on our ranches, our hunters may choose to harvest a buck of either species, should the opportunity present itself!  Our November deer hunters enjoy deluxe accommodations and awesome meals provided for them at the beautiful, private lodge at one of our private ranch leases!  (view if you wish @ www.diamondlranch.com).  Also included in our November deer hunts, if you wish, you may take a beautiful Merriam’s turkey and/or coyotes, at no additional charge!  This hunt is an excellent choice for first time western hunters, mixed hunting parties, father & son / husband and wife teams, or anybody looking for a generally easier and relaxing hunt with high success on nice trophy deer!  Trophy antelope may also be hunted in combination with our November deer hunts!

Since 1979, Rough Country Outfitters & Guides and their hunters have been consistent award winners in the Wyoming Outfitters Association & Safari Club International trophy awards competition for the finest trophy mule deer taken by outfitted hunters through-out Wyoming each year!  We would be pleased to add your name to our long list of happy, successful hunters!  After reviewing our literature, please feel free to call anytime to further discuss any questions you may have about our services.  It would be our sincere pleasure to outfit a great hunt for you in big Wyoming, we hope to hear from you soon!
